Phase (2017-2020) is a dance sound exploration through movement cuts.

Dance is scenic art that was not supposed to be filmed. Recording dance involves framing movements and body's dancer, time and space.

In these researches, movements from dance improvisation are the raw material of an audiovisual recomposition. Every gesture of the multidisciplinary artist Aloïse Sauvage have been cut out into a sound and visual patterns collection.

This composition approach, inspired by Steve Reich's phasing process, have been used to create an experimental music video in 2017.

This collection of videos has been reworked in 2020 in an online interactive version, in which the visitor active patterns as audiovisual samples: minhbout.in/phases.
