Nymphaea
Immersive audiovisual composition / House of Digital Art, Mauritius, 2024
Nymphaea is a healing island where water lilies emerge from the water and rise towards the sky. On their leaves and flowers, we perceive distorting movements, caused by the wind of a forest and the reflections of clouds. Faces appear on tree bark, their songs tinting the space with color and vibration.
This immersive work invites us to explore a world of vegetation, and to plunge into the details created by the play of light and shadow. On this island, a permanent cycle reigns: the depth of shadow gives birth to light, which in turn spreads before dissolving back into darkness.
Nymphaea was created from videos and photographs taken during a residency in Mauritius in November 2024. It was exhibited at House of Digital Art in the exhibition “All our islands are trees”, from April to July 2025.
